I know I keep reporting on BlackInkGeeks.com, but I think their website is very well done and I think they offer something very different. I just got word that they have lowered their prices and a lot more. They are now offering lower quantities of 100 and 250. This includes everything on the site. They offer flyer printing, letterhead printing, trifold brochures, envelope printing, and door hangers. I've heard talk of postcards and business cards coming soon. With all of that said you cannot beat their turnaround. NEXT DAY!!!

BlackInkGeeks.com Post-It Note Video

BlackInkGeeks.com will be live in the next week or so. Here is the latest video. The site is super easy to use. All ordering can be done on the very first page. This site should be a hit.

The video was done with stop motion using different color post-it notes. It turn out pretty cool.

Every online printing company offers the same products for the same price printed on the same equipment in the same turn around. Will somebody offer something different? Well one company has an alternative to the norm. The name the website is www.BlackInkGeeks.com. The site is not up yet, but what they will offer is printing of flyers, brochures, letterhead, postcards, envelopes printed on a variety of papers, but with black ink only. The prices will be too cheap for any of those other online companies to touch. The best part is, rumor has it, that everything will be shipped next day and ground shipping will be included. How can you beat that? Keep your eye out for these guys.

The Basics

Just like anything else today, I think the basics need to be addressed when talking about printing. Most people at home think they can design anything they want on their home computer and the printing company down the street can print it. WRONG!

Just like any other industry, their are special tools required to produce a good quality print job. Most of the software required is too expensive for "Joe Shmoe" to go out and buy to design his lawn service business cards. So, what options are there? Here are a couple.

Pay a free lance graphic designer or most printing companies can design in house. From my experience many graphic designers set the printers up for failure. Many times they will create something totally sweet looking, but it is near impossible to produce. Most of the time the in house designer at your local printing company will design around the capabilities of that particular shop. When considering these options, a good deal for a graphic designer is $100/hour, while the option below is FREE!

Another option is to use a design feature from an online printing company. By doing this you can design the artwork from the comfort of your home and in your time frame. A couple example sites are PrintGeeks.com and Lee Printing Co. Obviously I'm bias. There are about a bazilion online printing companies, be careful with just choosing the cheapest one.

So before starting a printing project talk to someone who knows what they are talking about. I'm always around to answer any questions.
